Nicole Ringhut studied Media Economics and Film in Wiesbaden and Toulouse (F). In 2003 she graduated from the German-French Masterclass (Atelier Ludwigsburg / Paris) and worked from 2004 – 2008 for the French production company PAN-EUROPÉENNE in Paris, where she was responsible for project financing and the coordination of international co-productions. The projects she worked on include: MR NOBODY by Jaco van Dormael (France/ Germany/ Belgium/ Canada – Official Competition Venise 2009), LARGO WINCH by Jérôme Salle (int. Production France/ Malta/ Italy/ Hongkong) and THE MAN OF MY LIFE by Zabou Breitman (France/Italy – Toronto Film Festival 2006).
In 2008 she came back to Germany to work first as sales manager for the world sales company THE MATCH FACTORY on films like: WALTZ WITH BASHIR by Ari Folman and CLOUD 9 by Andreas Dresen. By the end of the year she returns to her passion “producing” and co-founds the production company MARANTO FILMS in Cologne. One year later Nicole Ringhut is Executive Producer for the German Shooting on LARGO WINCH 2 – THE BURMA CONSPIRACY with Tomer Sisley, Sharon Stone and Ulrich Tukur and produces the psychological drama BASTARD with Markus Krojer and Martina Gedeck (Opening Film – Hofer Filmtage 2011).
In 2011 Nicole Ringhut launches her company BELLE EPOQUE FILMS based in Cologne and Stuttgart. She coproduces THE NUN, inspired by Diderot’s novel and directed by renowned French Director Guillaume Nicloux. The film, starring Pauline Etienne, Isabelle Huppert, Martina Gedeck was mainly shot in Germany and had its Premiere at BERLINALE COMPETITION. Another French-German Coproduction PATCHWORK FAMILY directed by Pascal Rabaté premiered at KARLOVY VARY COMPETITION. FRITZ LANG, a black and white crime story about the making of M had the World Premiere at ROM INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL and travelled since then all over the globe.
Beside the focus on feature films BELLE EPOQUE FILMS also engages in documentary projects. The German-Austrian coproduction GAZE INTO THE ABYSS by Barbara Eder, who already participated in numerous festivals with her first feature film INSIDE AMERICA, has been released in 2014. The animated documentary CAMERADES is currently in pre-preparation.
Nicole Ringhut is member of the German French Film Academy as well as the Producer’s Union VDFP.
